With increasing numbers of housing developments, a new local plan in the offing and boundary changes that will see Sturry and Broad Oak becoming part of a different Parliamentary constituency, our area will be undergoing some significant changes in the years ahead.

Is it now time for there to be a formal Residents’ Association to help the community come together to make the best of these challenges?

The Residents’ Association could complement the work of our local Parish Council and City councillors where it can, and also act as a conduit for the exchange of ideas and opinions.

There will be a public meeting on Tuesday 12th April, 2022 in the Sturry Social Centre, Mill Road.
7 – 8pm to discuss the issue. and to decide whether to proceed.

All local residents are welcome, and we would ask that you contact us via the form on the home page to let us know that you are coming.

For Covid safety, we will be asking people to bear in mind social distancing and to consider wearing masks.

We hope to have a guest speaker from one of Canterbury’s most successful Resident Associations to outline the benefits to our community. We will publish more details nearer the time.

The residents’ association would cover the area shown here
